THE PLASMA CANNON FILE
The Plasma Cannon, found in both IO and normal chests, has enough energy to fire five plasma balls. What's all the fuss about these? As they move forward, an electrical dome will surround them, and enemies caught in the dome will take heavy damage and be impulsed back. Vehicles are similarly affected. Tip: If you can keep enemies in the dome even when they are impulsive, they will take repeated damage.
It's unclear how the Plasma Cannon affects buildings. Fearing that Aliens might be advanced architects, the IO designed the Plasma Cannon to destroy structures almost instantly. In addition to being found, the Plasma Cannon can be crafted. Because the IO invented it using Alien technology, it can be crafted by combining a Legendary Pistol and an Alien Nanite.
One plasma ball can be deployed at a time by a single Plasma Cannon. (For a brief moment, it was technically two.) Multiple plasma balls can be deployed at the same time if you have multiple Plasma Cannons and cycle through them.
THE MYSTERY SHIP ABOVE THE AFTERMATH
A strange Alien ship is hovering over The Aftermath. The IO calls it "unusual" because its intent does not appear to be malicious. Its purpose is expected to become clearer in the near future.
