Fortnite v24.20 was the Attack on Titan update, but the match impact came from two items. ODM Gear changed how players moved through Chapter 4 Season 2 fights; Thunder Spears gave squads a louder way to break cover.
ODM Gear is the rotation tool. It lets you grapple upward, dive onto a target, then launch back into the air for another swing or an escape. Thunder Spears are the pressure tool: rockets that punish boxed players and armored structures. Both could be found on the ground, in chests, and in Scout Regiment Footlockers.
The crossover also changed drop behavior. Jaeger's Family Basement appeared in Anvil Square, which made that POI more tempting and more dangerous. Battle Pass owners got Eren Jaeger quests, while Levi and Mikasa lived on the Item Shop side of the update.
The official notes had quieter balance changes that matter more than the skins after the first few matches. Port-A-Bunker came back in Zero Build, Rare Kinetic Blades entered the loot pool with two dash charges, Mythic Havoc Pump headshot damage was reduced, and the Mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle took accuracy and hipfire rate hits. Arena and tournament players had a different experience because Thunder Spears and Dirt Bikes were excluded there.
