Patch Notes
Fixes and Improvements in this Week's Game Update
Archaeology : Daemonheim ๐๏ธ
- The new Daemonheim Archaeology site has arrived.
- Dungeoneering party matchmaking rooms have been removed.
- The summoning focus and voice of Seren Amlodd summoning XP boosts now stack additively with each other rather than multiplicatively.
- The following Archaeology materials have had their level requirement reduced: Felt, Compass Rose, Carbon Black, Dragon Metal, Orgone.
- Fixed an issue which incorrectly caused Archaeology excavation success chance not to scale with Archaeology level below level 99.
- This issue only appeared in January of 2024 and has not been active for all of Archaeologies lifespan
- This provided lower level Archaeologists more experience and materials from excavating than intended but it would reduce as players gained levels .
Dev note: For those at the start of your Archaeology journey this may initially feel like a nerf, but Archaeologies design relies on a number of interconnected parts balanced against each other.
The lack of excavation success chance scaling is detrimental to this balance in a number of ways such as, causing lower level players to generate significantly more materials than the number of artefacts that they excavate require, discouraging the restoration of artefacts completely due to the inflated xp gains from excavating or even devaluing archaeology materials in the economy in general due to lower demand and higher supply.
At a more fundamental level, it's important to the integrity of the skill that gaining archaeology levels leads to meaningful progression.
- The bonus provided by the Material Manual now correctly provides its full benefit to players at all archaeology levels.
- Due to the above scaling bug, this benefit was inversely scaling with archaeology level, providing no bonus for players above level 99.
Pride ๐ณโ๐
- Pride rewards can no longer be found in the Grand Exchange.
- The combat stance animation is no longer interrupted when the Shark Plushie override is active.
Upcoming ๐
- The Beach event can now be found in the game calendar under the In-game event category for the event date duration of 24th June to 22nd July.
Graphical ๐จ
- Fixed an issue with the size of the Spirit scorpion overrides.
- Fixed minor issues with Charos's and Enakhra's models on the Wen front.
- Readjusted the positioning of lighting in Freda's house.
- Readjusted the model of the Cactus Patch in the southern part of Het's Oasis which removed the visible gap in it.
- Fixed Polycolour issue with Voice of Jas.
- Fixed an issue with the Power Station roof clipping into the wall.
- The Goebie prisoners no longer wear Santa Hats during the Beastmaster Durzag encounter.
- Removed some white lines that were visible on the River Lum.
- Optimised the animations that play during cinder/pulse core explosions to help with performance and reduce crash rates when playing on mobile.
- Replaced the character models of the Menaphite ambassador in the Succession quest with models of a lower texel density.
General ๐
- The Fish Flingers overlay is now fixed to the top centre of the screen on mobile devices.
- Fixed an issue with the "Continue to use keys?" option not applying correctly in Treasure Hunter.
- Fixed a typo in chat notification about unlocking the Greg pet.
- Fixed an issue which allowed players to reclaim some pieces of the Starfury Armour for free.
- Forcewalk tiles near the Lumbridge tree patch were removed.
- Fixed an issue that prevented some players from completing the Player-owned Port tutorial.
- Fixed an issue that blocked players from removing the additional action bars.
- Fixed issue with Mysteria promos overlapping each other
- Fixed an issue that blocked players from smelting regular ores or smithing equipment during the Succession quest when players are required to smelt or craft argonlike ores/bars in the wilderness. When players have argonlike ores/bars in their inventory they will now get. A warning saying that these bars can be only smelted/used in the deep wilderness west of the Mage Arena. In addition, argonlike bars can be destroyed and won't block smithing actions until reclaimed.
- Protean memories can now be used on Energy rifts when the required level is boosted.
- Blocking was readjusted for the rocks located east of the wilderness maze.
- Added anti-spam measures to prevent spending additional Treasure Trail reward rerolls.
- Thalmund will no longer despawn on F2P worlds, F2P players still won't be able to interact with Thalmund. When interacting with Thalmund on a F2P world players will get a pop-up message stating that they need to login to a member's world in order to talk with him.
- Removed Zamorak's in-game reference to the 7 tiers of godhood in Dishonour Among Thieves' post-quest dialogue, as part of the wiki lore cleanup project.

Deja Vu?
Didn't we have the Assassin's promotion a few weeks ago? Indeed we did, we are trying out an idea from previous years where certain promotions would have a second shorter run a couple weeks after the initial run with the same rewards, this is to both give players another chance at picking up the prizes and to add another way for us to manage our promotion cadence.
