Today, we are excited to bring our competitors and fans initial details about the esports program for EA SPORTS FC™ 24, called EA SPORTS FC Pro, ahead of a full reveal in the coming weeks.
FC Pro is a new singular program that will focus on elite 1v1 competition, highlighting the world’s best players on their journey to the FC Pro World Championships. FC Pro features a refined schedule, simplifying the season narrative, and direct access to the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championships for top competitors from EA and League Partner competitions.
FC Pro Competition Calendar
The FC Pro calendar is split into distinct windows of competition, making it easier for fans to follow than ever before. From the launch of the game to the beginning of February, we will focus on global competition with FC Pro Open. Through a series of competitions, starting with the FC Pro Open Ladder, top competitors will advance to FC Pro Open – a weekly competition taking place over eight weeks. Those who do not qualify for FC Pro Open will have the opportunity to continue competing in online regional competitions for prizing and bragging rights.
From February to April we’ll see domestic competition take the stage through our network of league partners, as they crown national champions that will qualify on to the FC Pro World Championships. Competing players will not need to worry about global obligations at this time, giving clubs the chance to look for the very best players in the world to represent them in their country’s most prestigious tournament.
The top four players from FC Pro Open will join the top finishing players from League Partners around the world in the 32-player FC Pro World Championships in June. Here, we will crown the World Champion of EA SPORTS FC™ 24.
FC Pro Open
Starting with in-game competition, qualified and eligible players will receive access to the competitive game mode and – new this year – the ability to compete on the FC Pro Open Ladder hosted by our tournament operations partner. This ladder will allow competitors to match up against other elite players in their competitive region during a specific window of time. During FC Pro Open, players can represent themselves, football clubs or esports teams. The FC Pro Open Ladder is purely 1v1 and will feature a real-time leaderboard accessible outside of the game.
The top finishing players in each regional ladder will compete in the FC Pro Open Regional Qualifiers for the chance at an invitation and paid trip to the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, a 64 person competition scheduled for November. The top 16 players from the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier will join the top four players in the world from the previous season in FC Pro Open.
Players who don’t earn a spot in FC Pro Open will still have the opportunity to compete in regional-level online competition for the remainder of the FC Pro Open window.
FC Pro Leagues
From February to April, League Partner competitions around the world will take place to crown national champions and offer players the unique ability to represent their favourite clubs on the virtual pitch. You’ll hear more details about each of these competitions directly from our Football League Partners as the season kicks off. Players who competed in FC Pro Open can also compete in Official Football League competitions for which they are eligible.
FC Pro World Championship
A singular world championship will finish off the season. The top four players from FC Pro Open will join the top players from Partner League competitions across the world for this 32-player event. This is the first time that EA will host a World Championship event and we look forward to revealing more in the coming weeks.
