  • Compensation for the Pet issue
    • With today’s maintenance, we fixed the issue where unintended skill would be learned during registering and Exchanging of pets, and Pet Exchange is now possible again. We have sent out the Wizard Gosphy Pet for compensation of every affected pet in your possession.
  • Heidel Ball Stream Gift: Wizard Gosphy
    • Wizard Gosphy has been sent out to all adventurers of NA/EU during June 12th maintenance.
    • Please find your Wizard Gosphy ‘Coupon’ on your account page after logging in on our main website. Please make sure to claim the coupon before August 31st, 23:59 UTC or the coupon will expire.
      • Steam users can claim the coupon through ‘Redeem’ button under ESC menu in-game.

[Content]

  • Sky Balloon has been added.
    • The Encarotia Family, Gavinya Great Crater Dwarf Artisans, and Old Moon Guild have created the Old Moon Sky Balloon, which travels through Calpheon, Altinova, and Valencia.
    • You can use the Old Moon Sky Balloon by purchasing a ticket from the following NPC’s at their stations.
      • Calpheon: Kalix
      • Altinova: Lisam
      • Valencia: Mason
    • You can purchase the ticket with the Black Stone (Weapon) or Black Stone (Armor). The sky balloon will arrive once you hand over your ticket to Dwarf, who is in charge of handling the sky balloon.
    • Up to two adventurers can board the sky balloon.
    • Once a sky balloon has been summoned, you cannot interact with Dwarf, because he will be busy in preparation for the next sky balloon.
    • Though you can get off from the sky balloon immediately after you board it, you cannot get off once it departs.
    • If you go back out to Character Selection screen and come back into the character en route in a Sky Balloon ride, the character would fall down to the ground. There is no Death Penalty for dying from this fall but we recommend you to sit tight on your Sky Balloon ride.
    • Once the sky balloon arrives at its destination, you will automatically get off, and the sky balloon will disappear.
    • The routes Sky Balloon can travel are as follows:
      • Calpheon < - > Altinova
      • Altinova < - > Valencia
  • Added a new “Pioneers of the Sky” knowledge category.

[Developer’s Comment]

The Old Moon Sky Balloon has been created to help new adventurers who had a difficult time exploring the vast world of Black Desert.

You can now move from city to city more conveniently by hopping onto the Old Moon Sky Balloon.

Try taking a flight from Calpheon to Mediah, and get a view of the lands from high above. How about you take a special journey today with a friend on board the sky balloon?

[System]

  • The creator name for PEN items will now remain even after selling or buying them from the Central Market. This will affect only the PEN items created and traded after today’s maintenance.
  • Reduced the price gap between items bought individually and items included in Pearl outfit sets.

[Game World]

  • Most of the Grass Beetles which were near the dairy cows at Olvia have been relocated.
  • The beginner’s Common Rack located at Olvia and Western Guard Camp no longer has any more potions.
    • Beginners can continue to obtain various helpful supplies through quests or events.
  • A ladder leading up to the top of Cron Castle has been added for the “Memorial Service for the Fallen People” quest.
    • If you moved to another area without completing the quest at the top, then you can climb up to the top through the following methods.
      • Talk to the NPC of the Cron Castle Altar again.
      • Use the ladder to go back up.
  • Fixed the issue where frame rates would drop when moving a character from a certain area at Mirumok Ruins.
  • Fixed the issue where characters were unable to get out of certain areas around the Gervish Mountains.
  • Fixed the issue where frame rates would drop in certain areas of Velia.
  • Fixed the graphical issue with the beard of NPC Basquean Ljurik of North Kaia Pier.

[NPC]

  • Fixed the issue where Nella Encarotia would not disappear while playing the “Missing in Action” Calpheon main quest.
    • Nella Encarotia will appear again once you complete “The Qualities of a God” quest.
  • Certain NPCs at Grána have returned their weapons to the armory. These NPCs are no longer armed with weapons.
  • Certain guards walking around inside Calpheon City have been relocated.
  • Fixed the issue where you could not have a conversation with Bernatisha when interacting from a certain distance.
  • Fixed the issue where you were able to move your mouse abnormally during the motions of taking the wheel on a large ship (such as Galley, Epheria Sailboat/Frigate).
  • When you select the tier-5 horse which can be obtained by registering the “Seal of the Secret Guards” horse emblem, it will now be properly displayed at the Stable.
  • Galleys, Epheria Sailboats, Epheria Frigates, and Old Bartali Sailboats can now be damaged if they have at least one passenger onboard who is at least Lv. 50 and able to engage in PvP.
  • The quick walking motions of the donkey have been changed to a cantering motion.

[All Classes]

  • Fixed the issue where the character would occasionally turn its head towards the camera even in situations when it shouldn’t (such as while using a skill).
  • Fixed the graphical issue with eyelashes when characters fell a certain amount of distance.

[By Class]

  • Fixed the issue where Stamina would recover during the cooldown for the Razor Wind skill.
  • Fixed the issue where using the Night Crow skill towards a cliff while in Scythe mode would display an error message and bring the character back to its original location.
  • Fixed the issue where using the Flow: Night Crow skill on a hill would result in the character using another skill after showing a landing motion instead of showing the intended attack motion.
  • Fixed the issue where using the Night Crow skill in mid air 3 times while in Scythe mode and then using the skill immediately in the air again would result in showing a falling motion.
  • Fixed the issue where Emergency Escape did not activate when pressing V while moving during the main weapon mode.

[Developer’s Comment]

This week, we have updated BDO with a patch focusing on balancing the PVE damage for Striker.

We agreed with many feedback about the Striker’s skill combinations feeling a bit clunky compared to other characters, so we improved the skills and how they combo with other skills.

We will continue to provide updates which balance out the characters.

  • The camera perspective effect for the Fallout skill has been changed.
  • You can now use the Fist Fury skill when pressing S + RMB while in Gardbrace mode.
  • The range for the final hit for the Fist Fury skill has been reduced, which in turn will allow the attack to be more focused.
  • The transition to the Roaring Tiger skill while using Fist Fury has been improved to flow more naturally.
  • You can now use the Ferocious Assault skill by pressing W + RMB while in Gauntlet mode.
  • The attack area for the final hit of Ultimate Crush has increased and its range has decreased so that the attack can be more focused.
    • The final 4th hit of Ultimate Crush has been changed from a wide attack to an attack which focuses on a target in front of you.
  • The location for the Echo Spirit which is summoned when hitting with the Ultimate Crush skill has been changed.
    • The location has been changed so that it can attack where the Striker character is attacking.
    • The PVE damage for the Ultimate Crush skill has been increased to the following.
      • Ultimate Crush I: 588% x3 → 643% x3
      • Ultimate Crush II: 707% x3 → 799% x3
      • Ultimate Crush III: 827% x3 → 955% x3
      • Ultimate Crush IV: 945% x3 → 1111% x3
  • The Critical Hit Rate for the Skull Crusher skill in PvE has been changed to 100%.
  • Added a command which activates the Skull Crusher skill when pressing the F key while in the air during the Ferocious Assault skill.
  • The attack range for the Echo Spirit, which is summoned when using the Infernal Destruction skill, has been increased.
  • The spin PVE hit damage for the Infernal Destruction skill has been increased like the following.
    • Infernal Destruction I: 538% x 4 → 699% x 4
    • Infernal Destruction II: 618% x 6 → 803% x 6
    • Infernal Destruction III: 709% x 6 → 921% x 6
    • Infernal Destruction IV: 800% x 6 → 1040% x 6
  • 2 hits have been added for PVE hits for the Rampaging Predator skill.
  • The PVE damage for the Endless Fight skill has been increased like the following.
    • 1-hit damage: 763% x 3 → 1066% x 3
    • 2-hit damage: 610% x 3 → 959% x 3
  • Critical Hit Rate has been added to the PVE hit for Endless Explosion.
  • Added a command which combos 2-hits with Endless Fight when pressing LMB after the final hit with Endless Explosion.
  • When entering the commands for Flow: Mass Destruction and Ferocious Assault during the Endless Explosion skill, the skills will now be activated.
  • When using the following skills, other skills will now be activated more quickly than before.

  • The PVE damage for the Wolf’s Fang skill’s attack which pushes away the target in front has been increased.
    • Wolf’s Fang I: 51% x 4 → 255% x 4
    • Wolf’s Fang II: 79% x 4 → 397% x 4
    • Wolf’s Fang III: 107% x 4 → 539% x 4
    • Wolf’s Fang IV: 136% x 4 → 681 % x 4

  • The description for the explosive hit for the Wolf’s Fang skill has been removed, and the description for the Flow: Prey Hunt effect has been added.
  • The number of hits for the Wolf’s Fang skill’s regular hit and Flow: Prey Hunt has been increased by 2 hits.
  • The camera perspective effect during the attacking motions for the Wolf’s Fang skill has been changed.
  • The direction of movement and effects should now match for the skill Endless Fight.
  • The Stiffness effect for the skill Flow: Prey Hunt which activates automatically when used after having 30 Martial Spirit Shards will now be applied in PvE.
  • Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.
  • The Stiffness effect for the skill Flow: Prey Hunt which activates automatically when used after having 30 Martial Spirit Shards will now be applied in PvE.
  • The 8 skill points which were consumed to learn the Earthly Pain I skill, which can be obtained through a quest (which was a revision made on June 5th), have been returned.
    • However, there are no changes made to the maximum amount of skill points, and this does not include adventurers who have received all skill points through a skill reset after the maintenance on June 5th.
  • Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.
  • A caution message has been added to the item description for the Reset Mount Growth item.
  • You now have to be Lv. 56 or higher to exchange the [Event] Shakatu’s Seal with items.
  • You can now equip items from your Pearl Inventory even while moving.
  • The description of certain guild items have had the following information updated.
    • Who can retrieve the item from the guild storage. This information has replaced the information about who can use the item in certain guild item descriptions.
    • If the item will be erased if you leave a Guild.
  • The item descriptions for the items below have been revised to suit their names.

  • The information about the conditions for being able to accept the quest Materials for Skills, which is needed to acquire the knowledge Heating: Skilled, has been fixed.

  • Specification changes have been announced for the Main/Sub/Awakening Weapon Exchange Coupons and Combat/Skill EXP Exchange Coupons.
  • The monsters from the regions below will now appear twice as fast after they die.
    • Mediah: Shultz Guard, Hasrah Ancient Ruins
    • Valencia: Bashim Base, Basilisk Den, Roud Sulfur Mine, Aakman Temple

  • The chances of obtaining the Dragon Scale Fossil by defeating the monsters below at Sherekhan Necropolis during the day have been increased sixfold.

[Developer’s Comment]

When you complete the Mediah main quests, you normally head towards Valencia. However, while Valencia being a desert can be a challenge to certain adventurers, it can be a stress factor to some adventurers.

Therefore we would like to now allow adventurers to select a path (Valencia or Kamasylvia) to continue on with their journey.

Starting with the Fadus Habitat, we will continue to provide these types of updates.

Also, you can now obtain Asula accessories from the Fadus Habitat.This should be the beginning of updates which will allow the unpopular monster zones to become utilized more frequently.

  • The Fadus have become more fierce due to the white ash from Ash Forest. They have become numb towards pain and now obsess about attacking others.
    • Fadus Habitat (in the Loopy Tree Forest) will now have a recommended AP of 120-190.
    • Monsters at Fadus Habitat now have 30% increased HP increased and 15% increased AP, but also have 10% decreased DP.
    • The amount of Combat EXP you obtain from monsters at Fadus Habitat has been increased by 30%, and the amount of Skill EXP you obtain from them has been increased by 25%.
    • The amount of “Fadus Armor Fragment” junk items you can obtain from the following monsters has been increased.
    • Fadus Challenger: 1-4 → 2-4
    • Fadus Shaman: 1-3 → 2-3
    • Fadus Warrior: 1-3 → 2-3
    • When defeating monsters at Fadus Habitat, you will now have a chance to obtain Destructive Illusion and Dew of Tranquil Forest.
  • Fadus Warrior Chief will appear at the Fadus Habitat.
    • The Fadus Warrior Chief is much stronger than the other Fadus monsters.
    • Once you begin to fight the Fadus Warrior Chief, you must watch out for nearby Fadus which continue to join in on the battle.
    • You can obtain the following items by defeating the Fadus Warrior Chief.
    • Dew of Tranquil Forest, Destructive Illusion, Lemoria Helmet, Lemoria Gloves, Destruction Spirit Stone, Bares Shortsword, Yuria Shortsword, Bares Axe, Yuria Axe, Bares Staff, Yuria Staff, Trace of Battle, Earth Spirit Stone Fragment, Manshaum Voodoo Doll, Caphras Stone, Swaying Wind Shard, Black Stone (Armor), Black Energy Residue, Fadus Armor Fragment, Silver
  • Knowledge for Fadus Warrior Chief has been added.
  • The amount of Energy you can obtain through the knowledge of The Fadus Kind has been changed like the following.
    • Before: 11x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +1
    • Now: 6x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +1, 12x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +2
  • NPC Herbin, who can be found at an inn in Kamasylvia, has returned to Kamasylvia from the Kamasylve Temple in Mediah.
    • You can exchange a Dew of Tranquil Forest for an Asula’s Weakened Magic accessory via Herbin.
    • You can exchange three Asula’s Weakened Magic accessories for an Asula’s Crimson Eye accessory of the same type via Herbin.
  • A new item, Dew of Tranquil Forest, has been added.
    • You can get this item at a certain rate by defeating monsters in the Fadus Habitat. (Dew of Tranquil will also be available in Polly’s Forest after a future update.)
    • You can exchange Dew of Tranquil Forest for an Asula’s  Weakened Magic accessory.
    • Dew of Tranquil Forest can be sold to NPC vendors for 100,000 Silver.

[Quest]

  • Mediah Subjugation Quests have been added.
    • You will be able to accept these quests when you are in Mediah, and will be rewarded in your efforts in defeating various monsters in Mediah. Adventurers who are struggling with the Mediah main quests could especially enjoy the enhanced accessories available as quest rewards to amp up their gear.
    • They will automatically appear on the left side of the minimap when you enter the relevant region.

  • The following quests to get Witch’s Earring have been added to Hexe Sanctuary. These quests available for characters Lv. 51 or up.

  • The quest objective for [Returning] Removing the Fishy Smell has been changed. This was changed due to the feedback we received from many returning adventurers about the difficulty in obtaining the Grape and Olive because they were already gathered while going through the returning quest.
    • Before: Giving David Finto Grape or Olive
    • Now: Consuming Energy by interacting with the Grape Crate next to the grape tree storage.
  • The “Village by the Beautiful Coast” quest will not be displayed for adventurers who have completed “The Sage of Velia” before the “Village by the Beautiful Coast” quest was added. This is to prevent adventurers from being confused with the quest lines.
  • The quest-giving NPC for certain Black Spirit’s Gift II quests has been changed for the older version of the Balenos to Calpheon main quests. Now, NPCs from the questline will give you the gifts instead of the Black Spirit. Such quests have had the text “Black Spirit’s Gift II” removed from the quest name.
  • Changed the quest icon for “[Farming Lv. 40] Nature and Abundance” to suit the quest description better.
  • Fixed the issue where the Kamasylvia Weasel would occasionally not be summoned again after initially being summoned during the “[Repeat] Looking for Weasels” quest.
  • A quest icon will now be displayed on top of Al Rhundi when going through “The Scale of Justice” quest.
  • For clarity when accepting the Adventure Journal for the Traces of the Black Spirit, the description below has been added to the conditions.
    • Complete Quest [Event] Evidence of Black Spirit

[Knowledge]

  • Title for “The Fall of the Knights of Dawn” knowledge has been changed to “The Fall of the Knights of Dawn I”.
    • The title for “The Shadow Knights, Fraternity of Light , and the Secret Guards” knowledge has been changed to “The Fall of the Knights of Dawn II”, and the contents of it has been simplified.
  • When you obtain the knowledge of Barricade for the Star’s End region, the camera angle will now better capture the background than before.
  • The completion effect for the Complete button will now be properly displayed when completing the Black Spirit’s Adventure Journal.
  • It has been changed so that the creator name reset popup message will no longer appear when moving an item enhanced to PEN level into the Central Market Warehouse.
    • Warning notification of item data reset in regards to dye, branding, and etc will still appear.
  • When attempting to plant crops or place garden tools while your character is outside of a fence garden, the following message will now appear.
    • Please install the item inside a fence or residence.
  • When a Life Skill levels up, the information displayed will now be more detailed.
    • For example, when going from Gathering Beginner 1 to Gathering Beginner 2, instead of saying Gathering Level Up it will say Reached Gathering Beginner 2.
  • When purchasing the Appearance Coupon from the Customization window (F4) while in Toggle UI mode, the purchase window can now be closed by pressing the ESC key.
  • Fixed an issue where a list of other items was displayed in certain situations when placing an order for Volatile Price Items at the Central Market.
  • Fixed an issue where the weight of the current mount would be displayed in the Max Load information for the mount information at the Wharf.
  • When you select a tab or check a checkbox, the color of the text for the checked tab or checkbox will now change so that it is more clear that you have checked it.
  • The text for the following buttons has been changed as follows.
    • The text for the “Switch Menu” button on the older version of the ESC Menu has been changed to “Switch to New Menu.”
    • The text for the “Switch Menu” button on the newer version of the ESC Menu has been changed to “Switch to Old Menu.”
  • The description which appears when you press the recover button in the Worker List window has been changed to the following.
    • Shift + RMB the item to recover Stamina. → Press Shift + RMB on the item to continuously recover Worker Stamina.
  • The weight information for the mount you call from the Wharf will now be properly displayed.
  • Fixed an issue in the Find NPC window where clicking on the Imperial Delivery icon would make it disappear.
  • When using a skill registered on the skill guide widget, the effect which shows that the skill has been used will now be properly displayed.
  • When a customization file did not have the creator information included, there used to be an awkward blank space in the UI. This has been replaced with a hyphen (-).
  • Fixed the issue where the fairy’s Miraculous Cheer skill would occasionally not work even when the HP and Resource become lower than set value on the Potion Setting window.
  • Fixed the issue where an unintended skill would be learned when exchanging pets.
  • Fixed the issue where the DP Increase buff icon would be displayed when Nouver and Kutum are enraged.
  • Fixed the issue where certain potions could not be used by a Fairy with the Miraculous Cheer skill.
